When I rule the world, all boxes of chocolates will come with those handy charts telling you which are which. Because it sucks when you end up with a whole box of half-bitten chocolates so you can save the best for last.

I love those maps. Oh, chocolate. ;_;

Totally unrelated (though I do wholeheartedly agree with you), did you send me an email? Want to make sure gmail hasn't gobbled it up or anything...

I did! I sent it as soon as I had your email address! I will try once again!

Curse you gmail, let me have my email! Sending to tasha (at) flowersforthedead (dot) com might work better then....

Which means when you rule the world, people will stop parroting that stupid Forrest Gump line in an attempt at being philosophical because it will be totally inaccurate, too.

Not that it was accurate in the first place, since he said "You NEVER know what you're going to get." the keyword being "Never" because you sometimes know exactly what you're going to get because those maps are somewhat common.

Stupid gump.

...but you have to make sure that it's easy to tell whicch label goes with which chocolates, because that can get confusing if the lid gets turned around (or if the box is rectangularly shaped)

I've eaten so much Fannie Mae that I can tell which chocolates are which by looking at the swirly pattern on the top. Hee.

I do like those maps though. Take over the world!

Hopefully finally getting your christmas crunchies will tide you over until you can organise your takeover.

Definately. I think in all my chocolate eating years, only once has a batch of chocolate come with a map. And it wasnt a map so much as a picture of the different chocolates.

I remember someone doing a school report on this, years ago. There's a secret "candymaker's code" encrypted in the little swishes and swirls of chocolate on top of each candy--like the strawberry cremes have an S-shape drawn on the top, and all the caramels are square. Most pointless report ever, but at the time I was like, "Cool! I need a candy decoder ring!"
