cap, captain miss america

I keep seeing these ads all over the city:

Panel 1: Lady at desk with computer.
I'm a PC and Windows 7 was my Idea.

Panel 2: Man in Basketball Jersey in Park.
I'm a PC and Windows 7 was my Idea.

Panel 3: Lady in floofy blouse on street.
I'm a PC and Windows 7 was my Idea.

Panel 4
Tea: Really, I imagine

Panel 5:
Tea: It went something

Panel 6:
(Tea points to panels below)

Panel 7:
Lady at desk (typing): Dear Microsoft, Vista is the single shittiest OS I have ever used.

Panel 8:
Man from park (typing): Dear Microsoft, Please upgrade soon. Vista crashed six times today.

Panel 9:
Lady from street (typing): Dear Microsoft, I have an ulcer from using Vista. Here are my medical bills.

One of my professors showed us one of those ads in class. Not because it had anything to do with anthropology, but because the guy was his brother in law's brother and he thought we should all appreciate his big break.

Awesome! Was he the dude in the basketball jersey or another dude?

For all the complaints I've heard about Vista... I've never had a problem with it. Most of my problems stem from my truly shitty internet router. ;_;

I had a Vista computer for about nine months. I thought it was fine at first, but after a while it would crash every time I tried to put anything in the garbage :-(

LMAO, good times.

Don't tell anyone but you're my fav poster on my FL. :)

I am secretly excited for Windows 7, though. Mostly because of the TV ad with the little girl and the "happy pictures."

I've got to agree with Destiny-- I haven't had any problems with Vista either, and nobody I know seems to have issues either, so I don't understand the Vista hate.

Unless I'm a pod person... or have been successfully brainwashed by MS... or just sick to death of the Mac guy in the Mac ads... or maybe all of the above?

The point of the comic wasn't so much to hate on Vista as it was the fact that everyone's complaining is the reason these ads are true. I had problems with my Vista but I know plenty of people who didn't. My dad, on the other hand, was so afraid of Vista that he wouldn't even use the new laptop my mom bought him.

This is great! I have a rather ancient laptop, and thus still have Windows XP, which I have no problems with, but my sister (and roommate) has Vista and I hear her screams of frustration often.

Yeah, I loved XP. I am happy Windows 7 looks like it's going to be a bit more in that vein.

LMAO! I loved Windows 2000, and all the computers and instruments in my college lab used it. I wasn't overjoyed about XP, and after that was when I bought my Mac. My parents use Vista and their shitty PC got even shittier. I didn't think it was possible. They're excited for Windows 7, but I really have no cause to be happy besides no longer having to see the ads anymore.

I am excited because I play games on Windows! And because Vista hurt.

I went Mac and I'm never going back! (XP was lovely when it worked, but all the antivirus software and crashing drove me nuts.)

Sexy! And I never had any problems with XP, but then...I didn't have any antivirus software.

Haha, so true.

Okay, so I kept wondering what was going on behind the basketball player. I seriously first thought he caused a nuclear war and was happy about it. Then I realized it was a tree. I thought it was funny so I had to share. =)

XP runs on my personal laptop, and I always have problems out of it, but it's my favorite Windows (NEXT TO 3.1!!!)

Vista never crashes and I've been using the computer that has it for a year now and it was used well before I ever came along. I just don't like it because figuring out how to do a lot of advanced stuff just isn't intuitive at all. Locating where something that was exceptionally easy to customize in XP always irritates me.
I think it's exceptionally strange to run an ad campaign based on the notion that "Look at all these nice people! They called in to complain about how much our OS sucked. So they made the new one better. 'Cause we obviously don't know what the heck you guys want from us."

3.1 or Die!

Thankfully, until recently, I had never had Vista crash on me. After I got a virus on my machine, it was a totally different story. I wonder what's so awesome and new about 7. Probably the lovely pricetag that comes attached to it. :|

Okay, I'm reading through your journal, obviously, and I have not laughed so hard in a while. This is fantastic. Your comics are fantastic! Would you mind if I friended you?

Of course you may! I would be delighted and flattered, thank you. I am trying to wait a few weeks before I really add people back and see who I end up interacting with the most and get along with so I don't end up flooding my friendslist, but please feel free to read along-- almost everything is public, the only stuff that isn't is usually oogly personal stuff.

I just want to say, I find myself referring to this comic over and over. Right now I am anticipating a new computer (much to my sadness - well, I suppose it beats not getting one, but I was not so thrilled about my one-year-old computer dying a fiery death a few weeks ago), and every time someone says, "So I suppose you'll have Windows 7," I feel compelled to link them to this!
