Check out Dustin!
cap, captain miss america

Dustin, our new comic by Steve Kelley and Jeff Parker, launched Monday in newspapers! I know a few of you have heard me talk about it.

Dustin is about Dustin Kudlick, a 23-year-old college graduate who moves home after college when he can’t find a job. His parents are both ultra-overachievers: his dad is a powerful attorney and his mom is a popular radio personality. His kid sister, Megan, is a supergenius who wants to go to Harvard. Simone, the head of Dustin’s temp agency is a businesswoman who built her company singlehandedly from the ground up. Dustin is surrounded by people who are ambitious go-getters, but he sort of likes sitting at home watching cartoons in between attempts to launch totally unrealistic careers.

We just got it up online as well so you can read the first three strips here:

It sounds like a comic about... me.

Very cool. I like it and will try and keep up with it!

Thanks! I am excited! The artwork is fresh and interesting and I think it has a lot of promise!

I know you are! I thought, KATE WILL BE EXCITED. Although I think the first week or so is going to be stuff you already saw. :-P

Looks cute! I might actually start reading that, and it is hard for me to start reading new comics beyond my set group of favorites.

I am super excited for it! It's not totally innovative artistically or anything but it's got really strong characters and it's actually dealing with things that have some kind of connection to modern life, instead of the kind of rehashing of nostalgia in a lot of older strips.

This comic sounds so exciting--as a 23 year-old, I feel comfortable saying that this is totally relevant, demographically smart and sounds pretty darn accurate. Yay!

Yeah, I think it does a really good job! I'm excited for it!

Wow. Awesome comic. I think Dustin represents many 23 year olds out there... (Including, er, me. Heh.)

Heh. I just wrote about it (about where I just came from all of a sudden :P ).
