1/30 Awesome Thank-Yous!
cap, captain miss america

So, as most of you know, a couple of months ago I held a raffle to help raise money for a high school that is starting a comics class.

On Friday, I got an envelope in the mail. It was delivered to work, and at first I just thought it was another submission. Until I noticed that it was addressed to me by name and not to “Submissions Editor” or any one of the various synonyms to which the submissions are addressed. I was a little surprised, and stood in the mailroom wondering for a moment whether a cartoonist had somehow found my name somewhere. Which wouldn’t have been the most shocking thing ever, but it would have been the first time it had happened. I opened it to see what it was.

Here is what:

Also, I see that [info]whirled is going to be trying to post a blog post every day for a month. So I think I will try to do the same!

Those are some adorable thank you notes.

Those are so sweet! Just more proof that Tea rules. :D

And proof that there are some awesome kids getting those books.

That is the best ever! I'm so glad I helped sell raffle tickets. (:

Yes, yes, thank you once again!

I should try to post daily as well. Today was a bit whiny but let's hope for better days!

Oh oops I just realized I forgot to put alts on those images. The kids sent me adorable hand-written thank you letters and some of them drew comics! It was awesome!

And yeah, I think it is a good challenge!

Very cool about the kids! Ya gotta love it! I've gotten some adorable stuff from kids in the classes I've done presentations in. Smile

I think it's mostly the PMS talking, but I just teared up imagining those little sweethearts drawing comics for you. So awesome that you did that for them, and so awesome that they responded the way they did. :)

Oh I got a little teary when I opened the envelope! It was so sweet!

Wow, how amazing is that? Shows how cool a person you were to think of them and to organize the whole raffle. Good for you! I'm going to write Scott with the address for this post. I think he'd get a real kick out of it. Let me know if you do another. I'd be happy to contribute, for what it's worth.

Oh, thank you! Your stuff was very popular! It would be a lot of fun to do it again.

I'm actually surprised my stuff was popular. I was worried that it would elicit responses of, "what's this?" :"D Seriously, let me know. For you, I'd be happy to.

You are the best!

And yes! Harlon and Tamino went fast. Fite! didn't go as fast but I think it was the only one that had the logo on it.
